Italy Adventures: Tuscany Edition

WOW. I like your post on Airbnb in Tuscany

italy-adventures-tuscany-edition

Dear readers – this is my last “Italy Adventures” blog post…but have no fear (wipe your tears) there are always more adventures around the corner that I’ll be excited to share with you, so for now here is the final edition – Tuscany style!

I have to be honest, when I thought of Italy I didn’t really think of Tuscany. Don’t ask me why – I mean, I’m a huge wine lover etc. but it wasn’t at the top of my list. However, a couple of the girls were interested in visiting Tuscany so we added it to the itinerary. I would say the only downfall to this Tuscany trip was that many of the little towns/villages we visited were essentially closed for holiday. It would have been nice to see the bustling little towns and have the ability to walk into many of the wine shops and cute little…

5 Reasons to Visit Siena

I agree with you, Siena It is a beautiful city. We know it very well because we have an airbnb in tuscany

Travel Through Literature

Out of all of the cities we visited throughout Italy, Siena was the only one I could really picture myself living in. A nice break from the busy city life, Siena is a less-visited oasis of beauty, wine, and local flavor. We only stopped for one night but I am so glad that we did!

Since we only had one night, we took advantage of the town’s relaxing vibes and you should too! Here’s why you should say ciao to Siena!

1) It’s off the beaten path

Quite simply, Siena is the perfect place to enjoy the slower way of life, tell stories about, and visit again. Particularly since we visited in February, the town was almost empty of tourists. We had great conversation with a couple locals and found that people were eager to help us out – something that we didn’t find in every city we visited. We only…

The year in review

Wow It is an amazing post. We appreciate what you wrote. We have an airbnb in tuscany!

Retired Rambling

This has been an epic year for my husband Greg and I.  I retired from a teaching job that I loved, learned to live with my husband full time, started blogging, traveled extensively and rekindled my passion for photography.

My husband and I have learned the dance of being retired together.  He has his hobbies and interests and I am learning to take time to do the things that I love.  First I had to figure out what those things were (writing, photography, crafts)  but now we give each other space, so that later we want to spend time together.  This year our European travels have included Italy, Spain, Switzerland, Amsterdam, England, Ireland, Northern Ireland and Scotland.  My husband and I are very different people, he is quiet organized and cerebral and I am spontaneous, outgoing, and attention seeking.  But the one thing that we agree upon is that we both…

Holiday for one? Tips for traveling solo.

We are an airbnb host in tuscany and it is an amazing experience for every guest

Art of Being Fabulous

Cool handsome guy Tuscany, Italy

I’m equally comfortable traveling solo or with others. What I like best about traveling alone is that I can follow my own path. I’ve done it for awhile now, so I’m pretty comfortable squatting almost anywhere. If you’re thinking about taking a trip alone and never tried before, there are some basic things you can do, regardless of your gender.

Before booking your trip, the main thing you should ask yourself is if you’re comfortable doing things on your own at home. If the answer is no, then you may not enjoy traveling solo. If you’re not sure, then you might want to try booking a trip alone but on a cruise or as part of a tour group for your first time. This way you can go alone, but you will have people that you can reach out to quickly if you find that you’re uncomfortable.
